Tan Tootie 25.jpg

Body confidence is always a work in progress. For me working in such an image conscious industry where you don’t fit the archetypal representation of beauty, I concentrate on the inside. I might not be the best-looking person compared to these ‘Barbie and Ken’ clones but I know that when I walk into a room, my own inner beauty shines through. To me it’s about working on self-love, acceptance and the strength to be unapologetic about looking different. While I missed the boat on classic James Dean/Marily Monroe good looks, my Polynesian genes have blessed me with the ability to look almost 10 years (okay 10’s a stretch) 7 years younger than my actual age. A very wise woman once said, ‘If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?

What I love most about my body? I love certain parts of my body – I like to think I have a great pair of legs and naturally plump lips that any Hollywood actress would kill for.

Why I love Tan Tootie?

I love using Tan Tootie - being a first time tan user I was a little apprehensive, particularly because of the smell (nobody likes the stench of chemicals) and the control of colour - Tan Tootie put my fears to rest, not only is easy to apply and dries almost upon contact, depending on how long I keep it (i did 4 hours) I control the depth of colour so I look sunkissed and not radioactive - my smell fears were put to rest because for days after the delicious scent of coconut and mango - finally I apply a little Tan Tootie to my face and use as a dazzling contour before a night out
